A fan audio drama in the Doctor Who tradition
We are casting voice actors for the pilot episode of The Florist — a Time Lord you haven’t heard of yet.

Roles
ROWAN
Age range: 40s–60s
A warm, paternal flower shop owner.
Audition side: “Thanks small fry, here I found this in an old drawer last night, I used to use this watch a long time ago, but it stopped working. See if you can fix it for me okay?”
THE FLORIST
Age range: Open — looks to be about 20. This is a Time Lord on his 6th regeneration; regenerations can appear at any age. Cast for voice quality — dry wit layered over real weariness and warmth — rather than a target age. The Florist is the “true” identity beneath Rowan’s disguise — encountered later in the story after the initial persona is gone.
Audition sides:
“Hello ol’ girl, its been a long time since I’ve seen you.”
“Right…. I was, ran a flower store. I wonder what Small Fry wanted? What an odd name to give a child, did I think I was going to dip him in ranch and eat him? I’m not The Master, I could imagine him doing that.”
“(TARDIS door opens) Really ol’ Girl, that is what you hid yourself as? A Florist cooler? Is that how you hid previously? If so, I’m surprised no one tried to put flowers in you. The shop looks quite a bit different than it was a few moments ago. Ah a calendar, always love a good calendar. 2026? How is it 2026 already? I hope they got their flowers.”
YOUNG DAVID
Age range: Adult voice actors skilled at voicing children (no actual minors will be cast). Character is 8 years old in-story. Excitable, trusting, devoted to Rowan — needs to be able to pivot quickly from bright excitement to genuine distress.
Audition sides: (very excitedly) I’m doing great Rowan, I have big news for you!
What if he’s dying? Please Mr. Billings I can’t lose him.
DAVID (adult)
Age range: 18–25. Character is confirmed 18 in-story (10 years after the pilot’s opening events). Guarded, skeptical, carrying a decade of unresolved grief and confusion over Rowan’s disappearance — slowly warms up over the course of the reunion scene.
Audition side: “(over speakers) Who are you? How’d you get into my store?”
“(footsteps) You don’t seem to be too dangerous, not much to steal from here anyways. How do you know the name Small Fry? Only one person ever used that name, and they disappeared.”
MR. BILLINGS
Age range: 55–75 Old-fashioned, set in his ways, prone to formal turns of phrase — softens reluctantly when a child’s distress becomes undeniable.
Audition side: “One does not simply open the door to another person’s bathroom. Don’t you have any manners?”
“(starting to get terse) Where is he young man? I hope for your sake this isn’t some kind of prank. They may be out of fashion these days but I’m sure we could find a woodshed somewhere if it is.”
VOICE-1
Age range: Open, adult An ally/companion figure who dies protecting the Florist during a battle sequence — minimal dialogue, but should carry urgency and sacrifice.
Audition side: “Run Florist, Run!”
PARAMEDIC
Age range: Open, adult Single reactive line — minor role.
Audition side: “(from down the hall) Did someone call for an ambulance?”
